NORMAN —
Norman Democrats cast their ballots in the statewide runoff election.
Democrats will decide between John Cox and Freda Deskin for the State Superintendent of Public Instruction. The winner of ’s primary will face off Republican Joy Hofmeister in the general election.

Cox garnered 41% of the vote in the primary, While Deskin accrued 38.2%.
Also being decided is the Democratic race to fill the seat being vacated by US Senator Tom Coburn, who is retiring from his seat at the end of the present term. The Democratic candidates are Oklahoma Senator Connie Johnson and retiree Jim Rogers.
