Norman Democrats cast their bal­lots in the statewide runoff election.

Democrats will decide between John Cox and Freda Deskin for the State Superintendent of Public Instruction. The win­ner of ’s pri­mary will face off Republican Joy Hofmeister in the gen­eral election.

Cox gar­nered 41% of the vote in the pri­mary, While Deskin accrued 38.2%.

Also being decided is the Democratic race to fill the seat being vacated by US Senator Tom Coburn, who is retir­ing from his seat at the end of the present term. The Democratic can­di­dates are Oklahoma Senator Connie Johnson and retiree Jim Rogers.
