We’ll be alter­nat­ing our report­ing with essays and photo gal­leries from the twenty-sec­ond fes­ti­val in 2019, so check in often for a mix of old and new Woodyfest good­ness.] the his­tory of the Woody Guthrie Folk Festival to have pulled off the hat trick of win­ning the first-, sec­ond-, and third-place prizes in the Woody Guthrie Songwriting con­test. [Sidenote: At least, that’s what our rig­or­ous research depart­ment told us.] Weber is a fes­ti­val reg­u­lar, attend­ing even when he’s not on the bill. In 2014 he won sec­ond-place in the con­test and also per­formed a full set at the Crystal Theatre.
